Pro/INTRALINK 3.4 Scripting using Java

Pro/INTRALINK Automation

There are many advantages of using the Java Pro/INTRALINK 3.x scripting capabilities. Any automation in Pro/INTRALINK can be developed in a java script. It is very easy to create a script in Pro/INTRALINK. The script is created by recording the user menu picks through the Pro/INTRALINK interface. It is much like a macro recording. Anything that can be selected from a menu can be recorded into a script routine. After a simple script is created a user can then can modify the script to add loops, condition statements, collections, or other Pro/INTRALINK classes.

A user can add methods and call other routines very easily. The java scripts can extract Pro/Engineer information and modify components attributes by reading an ASCII file. The Java scripts can perform bi-direction communication between a company's ERP or MRP system and Pro/INTRALINK. The scripting technology is free unlike Pro/Toolkit. A custom pull down menu in the Workspace or Commonspace Interfaces can be created to execute the Java scripts. The Pro/INTRALINK interface makes it very simple to compile and run the java scripts. There are some examples listed below to help an engineering department operate more efficiently.

Pro/INTRALINK scripting is not supported by PTC.
